Koide-an is a pottery studio comprising the atelier and anagama kiln left behind by ceramic artist Yoshihiro Koide.
For approximately 40 years, Yoshihiro Koide created pottery here. It is now managed by his son, Munekazu Koide.

Koide-an is not a space of modern beauty equipped with the latest facilities.
Nor is it new; it is an aged facility.
Yet, as Yoshihiro said during his lifetime, “This place is my treasure,” it expresses the beauty he envisioned.
The potter’s wheel faces a large window, designed so that when he paused during work, the garden would come into view.
We hope ceramic artists will cherish and make good use of Yoshihiro’s legacy.
